My first day in Mumbai and IIT Bombay

I was extremely excited after passing high school and getting admitted to my new college. I got admitted into Indian Institute of Technology Bombay.
In my case, I was not only in a new institution rather in a new city itself. The city of dreams as they call it appalled me from the very first day itself through its huge hustle and tussle in the busy life of the crowd. With it I experienced the first-ever ride on a Mumbai local, neither did I know that it was going to be the most viable medium to ferry around the city in the latter days of the year.
My flight landed as scheduled in the evening and from there I straight away went to IIT Bombay, my to be home for the next few years. Upon collecting the keys I entered a small but sufficient room with a great view from the window. It was the first time that I would be leaving away from my parents. Though it did not scare me, but the heavy rains did. I had my first orientation scheduled the next day and the whole day I remember to be traveling to and froth from the hostel room to convocation hall amidst heavy rains. I got completely drenched and exhausted by the end of the day.
The rain god's manic, the long orientations at convocation hall and the tiring lines for food at mess had got the better of me. Soon enough I went back to my bed dreaming of the upcoming years in a new city, new institute and with new friends, and hope.
